How To Age Gracefully

Believe it or not, anti-aging measures should be taken as early as twenty-five years of age. As you get older, your skin loses that gel-like bounce back component called collagen. Collagen is the main structural protein in the extracellular space in the various connective tissues in the body. Simply put, babies have a ton of collagen; those pinchable cheeks and perfect cutie lips are riddled with collagen. As you age, the collagen protein starts to diminish around the eye area and the creases of the mouth. The anti-aging process is twofold. First, you will need to replenish the collagen your body is using. Collagen supplements come in a white tasteless powder form and can be ingested every morning with your daily cup of java or tea. There are quite a few other things that slow down the appearance of the aging process. Applying vitamin C serums help raise collagen production and protect against sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Avoid white sugars; white sugar speeds up the aging process by weakening the collagen in the skin. Sunscreen helps protect sun-damaged skin and prevents further harm. Drink water throughout the day. Water flushes out toxins, and creates supple skin, combatting fine lines that develop due to chronic hydration. Moisturize your skin before you sleep at night. Apply a nourishing cream so your skin can adequately heal as you sleep. Incorporate Omega-3 fatty acids and superfoods into your diet. If you want to reverse the effects of aging, your daily intake should consist of salmon, spinach avocado, berries, fruits, and vegetables.


It is important to remember it is a blessing to grow old. Wrinkles and gray hair are absolutely natural, and not everyone reaches that stage of life. These preventative measures will help slow down the appearance of aging, giving you that fountain of youth glow. Although, you should never be afraid to appear as if you have lived.
