Millennial Men Describe Their Perfect Date

Millennial Men Describe Their Perfect Date

We all have our idea of the ultimate date. Everyone has that office daydream where they're just strolling along with the person they love, and it's all magical, but I wanted to get into specifics. So, I decided to ask six millennial men in all different stages of their life this question: If you had $500.00 and a completely free day, what would you do with the special woman in your life?

Bachelor, 27

"Chick-Fil-A breakfast on the way to a horseback riding adventure somewhere scenic. Lunch from a picnic basket out on the ride next to a flowing creek or river, some light fishing may take place. Finish the ride in a field of wildflowers. Drop off the horses and drop her off in a secluded area to change. Spend the remaining money on dinner, dessert, and walk through a few little stores. Just enjoying each other’s time and space."

Engaged, 29

"Start by either bringing her breakfast and snuggling up with a movie or taking her to a trendy brunch spot (depending on if she’s a homebody or outgoing). Something city specific after that. Probably local boutique shops or something based off of her interests (museum, sightseeing, outside stuff depending on the town) Lunch at one of her favorite restaurants. Have a spa booked for her and a friend (massage, manicure, pedicure, facial) Her friend would take her home where she’d have a new outfit waiting for her with the time I’d be picking her up. Have reservations at a nice restaurant, no chain restaurants! Tickets to a concert or play. Afterward, dessert and coffee somewhere followed by a blanket on the beach or a stroll along a waterway...somewhere peaceful and private where we could talk or enjoy the sound of the water."

Married, 28

"I would take her on a surprise trip, give her 15 minutes to pack. Then take her to a charming bed and breakfast. That night, we would indulge in a five-star dinner. After that, we would see a play. The next day would be a fun day, either shopping or going to a cool landmark. An alternate plan would be to take her for a spa day. A pedicure, manicure, then a massage. To finish the date, I would take her for a surprise picnic!"

Bachelor, 31

"This is the perfect date is simple. That morning, I'd buy some popsicle sticks and sharpies. Then, I'd take my girl for brunch. After she orders whatever she wants, we'll take some time to write down things to do. Local attractions, public dares, whatever we'll make it extra creative. As soon as we leave the restaurant, we'll draw a stick and do precisely what it says, without hesitation. All day long we'll blow that money until she's hungry again. Then at dinner, we'll laugh about all the dumb things we did."

Engaged, 36

"A group date would be fun. If we're going all out here, I would rent out a bowling alley or a Main Event type place. I'd invite our closest friends, and we would just go nuts. We would play every game, eat greasy pizza, and sing Christian karaoke until they kicked us out."

Married, 27

"We would go out of town, maybe the San Antonio Riverwalk area or Dallas. We would spend the day touring new places, shopping, restaurants, and just sightseeing."

There was no specific reason for this survey, I was just curious about how men think. Especially the difference between, married men, engaged men, and single men. The married men were all about the getaway, one even phrased it as leaving, "the crush of life." It's essential to keep dates spontaneous after the routine of marriage settles in. (Speaking as a hypothetically married woman, not a realistically single person.) The engaged men were all about including others. This is most likely due to the fact engagement is a time-sensitive stage where friends, bridesmaids + groomsmen come into play. They are secure in their relationships, and this is a type of inclusion for everyone. The bachelors had some great active ideas, possibly because things are new and fresh and they just want to get out and do it all! I don't really know why any of these men selected the activities they did, but they all sound pretty amazing.
