Fancy Flapjacks
When you think of the ultimate breakfast food, what's the first item that comes to mind, pancakes! Pancakes are scrumptious, versatile, and extremely easy to make. You cannot go wrong with a classic fluffy pancake, and I've found the perfect recipe for them.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Yields: 8 pancakes (4-inch)
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1 cup of nonfat milk (can be substituted for 1% milk)
-2 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp of water
Directions:
- Mix together flour baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, oil, and, water
- Mix wet + dry ingredients
- Lightly spray a large skillet or griddle with non-stick cooking spray or lightly wipe with oil.
- Heat skillet or griddle over medium-high heat (350° in an electric skillet). For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the heated griddle
- Pancakes should be ready to flip in about 2.5 minutes or until the tops are porous and the sides are golden brown.
