Letting Off Steam
An at-home spa day could cost you $0.00. There are so many health benefits to wet saunas. Concentrated vapors open blockages in the skin, and help your natural oils to flow freely as opposed to building up. Steaming your face loosens dirt and dead skin cells trapped in facial pores to allow deeper product penetration. Steam can also increase blood circulation and aid with lymphatic drainage in the nasal cavities. You should apply steam your face every other week, twice a month. Not only is this incredibly beneficial, but it is also an undoubtedly relaxing process.
Spa Day Ingredients:
- 1 Medium-sized pot
- Water
- Large towel
- Essential oils, facial toner, or toning tablets (optional)
- Relaxing tunes
Directions:
- Cleanse your face with your regular skincare routine cleanser
- Fill the pot 2/3 with water
Preferably filtered with no added minerals
- Bring water to a boil
- Once the water comes to an active boil, remove from heated surface and place on a heat-resistant surface
- Add oils or toners
The oils and toners add nourishing ingredients to your face. Pictured in the cover photo is a Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab. It’s packed with Tea Tree oil + aloe vera to clear the complexion and soothe redness.

- Horizontally place the large towel on the back of your shoulders and head and create an enclosed dome around the pot. Careful not to get too close!
- Relax for 2-3 minutes or the duration of your favorite song
After this step, I recommend a clay-based or deep-cleansing mask. Now that your skin is fully prepared, you will reap more nourishing benefits. This process happens every time you take a shower. Although, in the more concentrated state, you can focus on rejuvenating the complexion and receive spa-like results from the privacy of your own home.
